MySpace is dead to us. Sure, you can still go to the Alpha Leonis MySpace page, but all you’d probably get is some stupid message from your browser that says “The following plugin has crashed: Shockwave Flash. Disable plugin?”

Stream Shadows of Men in it’s entirety from the user-friendly Alpha Leonis Bandcamp page instead. We know it might be hard to like a band when you can’t see how many ‘page views’, or ‘plays’ or ‘friends’ they have, but give it a try anyway.

Show - The Woods

It has just been confirmed that Alpha Leonis will be playing The Woods, a beautiful venue in SE Portland, on October 22nd at 10pm, with The Dandelion War of San Francisco. The Woods is a former funeral parlour built in 1929 and only recently converted into a music hall and art nouveau lounge. If you haven’t been there, this show will be a great way to familiarize yourself with such an historic landmark and hallowed space. Tickets will be available in advance through The Woods’ website soon.

Update 10/02/2010: Woods show will be rescheduled.

Show - Someday Lounge

Next Friday, August 27th, Alpha Leonis will be playing a show at the Someday Lounge with Chicago’s “college rock revivalists”, Filligar. Filligar is on a national tour and will be headlining the show which starts at 10pm. Tickets are available at the door or in advance through the link on the Someday Lounge website.

Alpha Leonis is playing an all ages neighborhood celebration this Saturday, July 3rd. Come by the Interdependence Day Festival at St. David’s on SE 28th and Harrison around 2:00pm to enjoy the show, and stay for the food and other festivities!

Free Show - Vino Vixens

The summer is upon us (in theory anyway) and in celebration we’ll be playing a free show at Vino Vixens on Saturday night (June 19th). Not only that, but we’ll be playing an MTV-style acoustic/uplugged set! What does that mean? It means that no one will actually unplug anything — but there will be more acoustic guitar than usual. Come check it out…then hit up the naked bike ride.
